Matters arising not on the agenda from minutes of last meeting

Anne had spoken to Richard D about a bank account and he suggested the Coop Community
Direct Plus current account. We are able to use FoE details for the application.
Brain, Jackie and Rob volunteered to be committee members/signatories.
ACTION: Becky to print and fill in paperwork and bring it to the meeting in December.
Hope for the future have responded to our request for a tailored lobbying strategy for our MP.
ACTION: Anne, Becky or Anne to add the document to Slack, summarise for the next meeting
and add to the agenda.
Nigel has contacted Rykneld homes about insulation via email but not heard back, a phone
number was provided so he will try this approach.
Several members of the group attended COP26. At the start of the conference it was quite quiet
with a very high police presence. There were protests at JP Morgan for their investment in fossil
fuel companies and BAE systems for the environmental cost of military action. The group joined
a Fridays for Future rally and heard some inspirational speeches from protestors that had
travelled from around the world to attend COP, including Greta Thunberg. Numbers of activists
increased as the week went on, with Fridays for Future march on the friday seeing around 50,00
protestors marching.

On Saturday around 12 members of the group attended the national day of action organised by
the COP coalition group in Chesterfield. Around 300 people marched from Shentall Gardens
around town and heard a rally in New Square. They were joined by the Oil Monster who performed on the way and at the end of the speeches. The speeches were maybe a little long
and turned more political in nature. The group gave out a lot of flyers promoting the survey.   Support for the UN Global ban on fracking proposed by Ireland The group were asked if they would like to add the group name in support of the ban proposed,
all were in favour.
ACTION: Mary to add.   Wingerworth Tree planting Frank has managed to secure 270 trees from The Woodland Trust to plant in Wingerworth
between now and early 2022. A limited number have arrived so there is tree planting day
organised for 20th November 10.00 a.m. in Chartwell Park. Some trees are cherries so
interested in the Community Orchard approach. Also got permission from D.C.C. to plant
wildflowers on 3 verges but this has taken 18 months. Frank suggests approaching parish
councils in the first instance to access trees and find land on which to plant.   Climate Stall at Chesterfield turning on Christmas lights There has been a request from CCA and Transition for volunteers to man a stand at the light
turning on event. Rob will be there with a tombola and a split of any proceeds between groups
attending. Climate/Environmental groups Christmas meal gathering This will be held at the Baptist Church, Cross Street Chesterfield, S40 4ST on Monday 13th
December. There is a form for registering attendance on Facebook, several from the group are
attending.

The Survey Now up and running, please complete and share with everyone you know

End date has been extended to allow mail out in later newsletters. Had 165 fills so far, would
like three times this. There is a draft report on Slack, could all look and comment if not happy
with design.
Does anyone know a desktop publisher who could help with presenting the results?
Physical sheets can be printed for the stall and Dronfield market.
Urge for anyone to publicise wherever they can.
ACTION: Mary to take to Dronfield market 2nd December.   AOB Richard suggested a forum on the website to allow people to discuss climate issues. There was
a question of how much traffic it gets, he feels quite a lot because getting a lot of spam, he will
investigate numbers and a forum.
ACTION: Richard.
